On the Road: Day 3

Oh, today was a MUCH better day than yesterday. We did a leisurely 455 miles that took 7.5 hours because we took the time to enjoy it.

Van Horn, TX

Can we just discuss how massive Texas is? We drove 7 hours today and we are still in Texas. We will still be in Texas for a lot of the day tomorrow! But can we also discuss how GORGEOUS Texas is? I mean, the vistas! They go on f o r e v e r...... Here a few captured by mom (I will say that the panoramics are mine and have a filter, but all the rest are Mom and are completely unfiltered - they are naturally that stunning.)

We also had time to do an Atlas Obscura stop!! We went to the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) Museum in Sweetwater, TX (which is also home to one of the largest wind farms in Texas at 144 square acres). But... it was closed for a bunch of LARPers in 1940s regalia who were going to do a reenactment! Kinda cool and kinda bummy, simultaneously. So, I got pics (unfiltered) of the outside! Also, here is a Wikipedia blurb about the Women's Airforce Service Pilots program:

Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) was a civilian women pilots' organization, whose members were United States federal civil service employees. Members of WASP became trained pilots who tested aircraft, ferried aircraft, and trained other pilots. Their purpose was to free male pilots for combat roles during World War II. Despite various members of the armed forces being involved in the creation of the program, the WASP and its members had no military standing.

As always, here a few of my favorite Mom pics for the day. Some good and some classically Mom-ish! Hope you enjoy!

Until tomorrow :)

As always, remember to take a leap and choose JOY!!

I love your mom’s pictures because they are reminiscent of my own Mom’s work 💕
